How to Style a Sitting Room
A sitting room, study, or den should be as warm and welcoming as any other room in your home.
How to Style a Sitting Room
Choose a Color Palette
Since I’m prone to calm and serene settings, various shades of blue are my go-to colors of choice. Against that backdrop, I tend to fill the space with furnishings of wood tones and cozy fabrics.
Create a Focal Point
What one thing do you want to center the room around? For me, it’s a beautifully styled bookcase. Consider arranging stacks of books, bowls, vases, candles, ceramics, sculptures, picture frames, and more until you get it just right.
Add Warmth & Cozy Accents
Remember to always include soft textures and the right lighting.
Some ways to create warmth in your sitting room is with a chic lamp and canvas artwork. And don’t forget to add a cozy rug to ground the space as well as pillows and a throw blanket to really set the tone.
